INDIGO SPIRIT

INDIGO SPIRITS are a far more widespread phenomenon than the world cares to acknowledge. They have been identified far and wide in communities and in diverse cultures. Indigos often hide their true natures behind impermeable facades in order to survive in today’s highly competitive and materialistic world. While some of them openly spread their joy for life, others are unable to find ways to cope and languish in prisons of our making. And yet these highly aware beings are likely to be key players in re-establishing planetary harmony and contributing to our accelerated evolutionary consciousness.

Indigos are wise and powerful. Fragile and strong. Loving and compassionate. Curious and changeable.Sincere and authentic.Tirelessly passionate about nature. Lucid and just in their observations. Naturally natural.Blatantly honest. Mercilessly frank. Often rebellious. High-spirited. Conscious of their mission.Small yet immense. In the moment yet infinite. Riding freedom’s winds. Delighted to be seen and loved for who they are. Courageous to have come. Evolutionary.

The more we understandour own indigo spirit, the more we can live conscious meaningful lives. Indigo is not only a color, but a vibration that has its own resonance. It corresponds to the throat chakra in the vedic tradition and heralds the messengers of a new era.

In the face of climate change where we seem to be moving into a vortex of unknown parameters and where our very survival may be in question, the presence of a higher awareness will certainly be welcome. We don’t really have a clue about how to proceed, but the values of courage and integrity will be essential.

The human race may be confronted with the necessity for rapid change to face the new biochemical and meteorological changes that our planet is beginning to manifest. Let’s face it, our human lungs can breathe oxygen but will not be able to breathe the sulfuric and nitric oxides that our higher temperatures and methane gaseswill release into the world. Our lungs will simply burn up. Survival will require a physical transmutation of the human body, something like what happened in the Hollywood movie, Avatar for different reasons.

And as Darwin pointed out long ago, it is not the most numerous or highly intelligent species that survive a major evolutionary change, but those that have the highest degree of adaptability.

The book, Indigo Spirit for a Child-Friendly Planet,by an author who simply goes by the name of MARTI gives us some clues about how to prepare for the unknown. It was written for indigos everywhere, and for whatever trace of “indigo” beats in our blood, touches our hearts and delineates our own personal song lines and our collective human experience. It formulates a philosophy of living to respond more creatively to the indigo spirit in children and adults and to acknowledge all of our struggles to integrate and accomplish our life missions. The chapters are short, concise, and full of practical tips and gems of wisdom.

MARTI is a writer, photographer, and journalist. She has written for the Washington Post, the Le Monde Guardian Weekly, and was a staff writer at Science Magazine. She is a former professor at the Sorbonne in Paris and was the first keynote speaker at the COP 15 Climate Change conference in 2009. That conference was life-changing for MARTI.

“I began to see more clearly the relationship between our indigo spirits and the challenges we face today to protect our delicate and fragile planet and to safeguard against human and species extinction,” she says.

Indigo spirit is a slim easy-to-read volumeespecially popular among young people who are searching for their true mission and raison d’ĂȘtre in life and who often struggle to find their true place in the world around them. It especially honors children everywhere who not only have the right to preserve and develop their indigo spirits for their own personal fulfillment, but will also be key players in re-establishing planetary harmony and contributing to our accelerated evolutionary awareness.

Wings have birds,” an Indigo child once remarked. This pretty well sums up a new way of thinking in a world where we have to get out of the box and understand that even if there is a Planet B and we get into our interstellar space suits, at this stage in time we will probably not have the technology to reach it. So the only other alternative is transformation of consciousness and transmutation of the physical body. A large task and we will need to have the mental, physical and spiritual mettle to do it. Today is a training ground for an unknown tomorrow. What a privilege to be alive at this moment in time.
